Spice Cupboard of my Mind

So I was buzzing around my kitchen tonight (baking more banana bread, if you must know) when I found my mental radio station tuned to the Butthole Surfers' song "Pepper"-- you know the one, "They were all in love with dyin', they were doing it in Texas." The lyrics of songs sometimes get stuck at a certain point when they're running through my head, as if my subconcious is trying to send me a message. But strangely enough, I wasn't stuck on the "cinnamon and sugary" part.
No, it was this part:

Some will die in hot pursuit
In fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is [what, boys and girls?]

...pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain

Yep. Some days I'm so sick of this place I'd even move to Texas-- or Alabama.

Wow, look at all that snow! It is beautiful, though!

Sorry to hear your shovel broke! That stinks. I ended up using our garden shovel for the ice...worked great! And even though dH whined about the gutter...it filled back up with ice last night in all that wind. so we're both happy.
Oh and the wind tried to take down my Christmas lights...which except for the broken bulbs is a good thing because I'm not getting out there to take them down!

mail again... we had to put the mortgage on autopayment years ago because our first mortgage company would send out a coupon book and we would forget to make the payment until our grace period was almost over. So now we don't have to worry about it.
with our first house it was an adjustment for us to be making house payments at all...before that we had always lived in military housing and didn't have to pay for anything but the phone.

Yeah, we put off doing that until it was too late (i.e., I lost my job) and nowadays we never know where the money will be or when it will get there. So it all works out. Usually. (I've still got another week-- ack! Where is it?)
